Product Introduction
The screed is the core working unit mounted on an asphalt or concrete paver. Its main functions are as follows:
Leveling: It levels the paving material spread by the auger to the specified thickness and width, eliminating unevenness caused by material accumulation.
Pre-compaction: Using the heated screed plate and its own weight (along with the vibration/tamper mechanism), it provides initial compaction to the paving layer, achieving a certain density before the final rolling by rollers.
Thickness and Slope Control: By adjusting the angle of attack and the height of the left and right sides of the screed, it precisely controls the laying thickness and transverse slope (camber) to meet the design grade requirements.
Surface Smoothness and Texture: The screed floats behind the paver, smoothing out vibrations from the crawler tracks to ensure longitudinal flatness. Meanwhile, the bottom surface of the screed plate creates a uniform surface texture for enhanced skid resistance.
